The review is in Swedish.18/05/2011:- One more for Sticky Fingers and The Big 4The Bjorn got an offer to play the big after party for The Big 4 at Sticky Fingers in Gothenburg on July 3rd. Rambo Live is run by agent Chris LeMon, with many years in the business booking bands like U.D.O., W.A.S.P. and Cinderella. Chris is also known for his work with festival Stockholm Rock Out. This is the first time this festival is held and the band is excited to be headlining this festivity.06/05/2011:- Swedish album chartAfter the first week since its release "2011" (Rambo/Sony) made its way up to number 33 on the Swedish album chart and number 3 on the Swedish hardrock/metal chart.- Appearance at 'Potatisfestivalen'The Bjorn is scheduled to make an appearance at the annual 'Potatisfestivalen' in Alingsås on the 17th of June. They will play both already existing clubs and with their own touring rock club, 'Club Land of Ashes'.The first stop will be Club Rundgång in Ulricehamn, Sweden, on the 12th of February. More dates are coming in so check back for further notice.The second stop will be at Köket in Vårgårda and it will be the first show on our own touring rock club, "Land of Ashes". 17/01/2011:- The album is done!The Bjorn is very happy to announce that their upcoming album is finally done. At least the musical side of it. The band is currently looking in to artwork and pictures for the final product.The yet unnamed album will be released sometime during this spring, probably in April. Please check back for more info.- The Bjorn on tourAs the release of their debut album is approaching, the band is now looking into possible tour dates. They have started booking some dates for their promotional tour around the west of Sweden. When the are all set there will be an update here on the tour page. 12/12/2010: This past yearThe other week me and Björn were reminiscing over this past year in the band and it hit us; it hasn't even been a year... It hasn't even been a year since we did our first show and here we are recording our first album. Why is that? How come we made it to here in this short period of time? Here are my thoughts on the matter:From the beginning we sort of knew what direction we wanted to go in carrier-wise, we knew what kind of band we wanted to be. We didn't nescessarily know exctly how to get there but along the way we learned it pretty quickly. Doing research and scanning our network made it easier for us to get where we wanted to be. It gave us opportunities, and still does, to work with all these great people that have helped us become a better band.We have all been in bands before. We've done the demos, we've done the endless hours in rehearsal rooms working on songs that never really got anywhere and all the time waiting someone to "discover" you... This time we want to do it for real! We want to get it done our way and if help is offered we will kindly accept it but we never exclusively rely on it.One other reason for being where we are today is not being afraid. Not being afraid of what others might think, not being afraid of each other and not being afraid to make mistakes. Mistakes makes you evolve, they make you want to do better next time. They make us want to write better songs, get better on our instruments and get better as a performing act! All in the key of hardwork...The great thing for me is that no matter what we do, whether it's rocking out on stage, writing songs, doing business or even just drinking coffee and being silly, I'm in this with three of my best friends! That's what makes this whole thing even more worth while.So, here we are working with the people we want to work with, writing the music we love to listen to and love to play. We are doing this on our own terms with the help from people who are the best at what they do. We are building a dream that we truly and deeply believe in and we're doing it with every fibre in our body.The scary thing is... It's all up to us now!...but we love it!Over & out,Mike____________________28/11/2010: Guidelines & motivationThe other day at work this guy I'm working with asked me. Björn now when you are getting in to a record deal and have a chance to change your life completely. Why don't you make a pop record? Make songs that have a bigger chance to end up on the radio...Well, here is the answer I gave him and this is my final answer to anyone who might wonder:I have a job, I'm working in construction. I have a house, I'm married and I have a daughter who is two years old. I'm quite happy with my life. My music is already giving me all I ask of it. It's an outlet for a lot of my dark thoughts and sides. It's an adrenaline injection and it makes my life richer. I love writing and performing this music. I love the challenge of trying to perform it in a way that gets the message through to the audience/listener.Making this record could change a lot of things in my life. But if I am going to leave my family for touring, it have to be with this music. To make a record just for radio or whatever, that would be like applying for a job that I don't want...So for you guys and girls who listen to The Bjorn and like it. I'm looking forward to meet you in sweaty club somewhere.//BJ__________________19/12/2009: Blood is thicker than waterRelease party “…from the land of ashes” 12 December 2009:This night gave me an insight that I would like to share with anyone who might be interested.So many times in the past I have been standing back stage waiting to go on stage. Adrenaline pumping and all that good stuff… “Let´s go out there and impress the hell out of these guys”, has been the kind of pep talk before entering the stage.This time I had a different feeling. This time it felt much more genuine. We were standing backstage and we heard the whole room sing along to the music coming out of the PA speakers. We already knew that the night was going to be a success, we could feel it. This crowd didn’t come here to get impressed by anyone. They came out to celebrate with their friends. We just had to walk in there and join the party! The question is, how many pure fans does The Bjorn have out there? I would say none.But it seems we have lots and lots of friends that are as excited about our music as we are. And I have never felt this fulfilled in my entire musical career. So to all of our friends out there, let me give you a… Hell yeah! Thanks for all the support!// Björn___________
